CASA NEPAL_1

The support of Associazione CAMPOBASE for the SCHOOLING PROJECT continues, helping the children hosted with their mothers at CASA NEPAL, the shelter in Kathmandu for women survivors of violence. The project is led by APEIRON ITALIA ODV and carried out locally by APEIRON NEPAL.

Education support from Sindhuli shelter home.

Our funds are used to provide school bags, supplies, and everything the children need to attend school.

We will also be granting three additional scholarships for the older students, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the vocational courses offered by Cocina Mitho Chha

BINITA DI SPALLE

Binita (captured from behind in the photo, a small gesture to gently protect her privacy) has begun her three-year nursing program with enthusiasm and strong academic performance. We met her in December: she was happy, determined, and deeply aware of the value of the scholarship dedicated to the memory of our friend Antonio, a professional nurse. Her motivation is a shining example of how an act of solidarity can transform into a concrete future.

BINITA SENZA BINITA

A long journey spanning many years, shaped by the care, dedication, and professionalism of the Casa Nepal and Apeiron Nepal teams as they walked alongside Binita through her deeply troubled personal story — a path guided with remarkable sensitivity and coordination by the Italian association Apeiron in Cesena.

In addition, we will provide three scholarships each year for the older children, enabling them to attend the vocational courses offered by Cocina Mitho Chha.

In the photos, you can see the school materials and some of the younger children with Grace’s books, which we brought as gifts for them last December.

For the 2022–2024 three‑year period, CAMPOBASE funded part of the project A FUTURE FOR EVERY CHILD, an initiative developed by APEIRON ITALIA ODV and implemented locally by APEIRON NEPAL.

Through the support of its donors and contributors, Associazione CampoBase has covered the salaries of the kindergarten teachers in Dhading and Bhojpur, both remote areas of Nepal.

UN FUTURO PER OGNI BAMBINO is a scalable project whose goal is to ensure that Local Communities, initially supported by various associations like ours through the Local Government, can eventually carry it forward independently.

We will therefore continue supporting the teachers of Bhojpur and Dhading until the end of 2024, knowing that the project will carry on in the future thanks to funding from the Local Institutions. A meaningful achievement made possible through our collaboration with Apeiron and Apeiron Nepal.

For the period 2022-2024, CAMPOBASE will finance a part of UN FUTURO PER OGNI BAMBINO (A FUTURE FOR EACH CHILD), a big project conceived by APEIRON and followed locally by APEIRON IN NEPAL.

In Nepal, government schools provide only one teacher every 30 children, regardless of their age. In remote areas, schools are usually built on the top of a hill, so they can be reached by children from villages scattered on the sides of nearby mountains, even after hours of walking.

The distance from villages and schools poorly manned by teachers, often poorly paid and worse prepared, are two of the most important factors of school dropout, a real scourge difficult to eradicate in a society where it is hardly natural that even children participate in the family economy, working in the fields or caring for yaks, goats or cows, instead of going to school.

We will follow this project until the end of 2024 so that the children of the Kindergartens of the two schools Shree Chandi Basic School (Bhojpur District) and Shree Kamrang Basic School (Dhading District), can have – continuously – a teacher who takes care of them to learn, play and eat in a safe and appropriate environment.

Apeiron is an Italian NGO based in Cesena and has in Casa Nepal its sister that, for many years, works to help women victims of domestic violence – and their children.

When the women have finished their “journey” in Casa Nepal and it is the time comes to come back to society, it may be useful a Kindergarten like ours to take care of their children, so we guaranteed them the welcome in our structure, free of charge.

Apeiron in Nepal is responsible for following even older children who have seen growing and helped in moments of difficulty they or their families.

With Casa Nepal, CampoBase has signed an agreement thanks to which two of these young people (Ojasbi and Rajendra, with us in the upper left) were able to participate – for free – in the Barista Trainings organized in March 2022 by Cocina Mitho Chha.

The decisions taken in January 2022 were immediately translated into real projects.
